Inpatient consultations

What if I experience an unexpected complication once I am admitted to the hospital?

In the event you are admitted to John Muir Medical Center with a complication or experience a complication as an inpatient, the physicians of Diablo Valley Perinatal Associates provide perinatal support to the primary obstetricians of John Muir Medical Center with inpatient consultations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

What are the most common pregnancy complications that result in the need for hospitalization?

Unfortunately, pregnancy complications that result in hospitalization are common and include preterm labor, preterm premature rupture of membranes, preeclampsia, bleeding secondary to placenta previa, placental abruption uncontrolled diabetes, pneumonia, kidney infections and certain multiple gestations.

Dr. Won attentively managed my second pregnancy. I previously had a second trimester loss attributed to cervical incompetence and then carried another pregnancy to term with the use of cervical cerclage and extended bed rest. Due to my high risk obstetric history, I was unsure how difficult or feasible another pregnancy would be. My husband and I were put at ease during what may have otherwise been a stressful time. Dr. Won’s personalized care made me feel like one-in-a-million rather than one of many. The staff at Diablo Valley Perinatal Associates was fabulous; friendly and professional. From check-in to follow-up, our experience was exceptional. I would highly recommend Diablo Valley Perinatal Associates to colleagues, friends and family members.
